Skatås - Kåsjön
Degree of difficulty
Close to the city noise, but still surprisingly quiet. Experience the view from the top of Getryggen. End with a swim in Kåsjön.
The third section of the Bohusleden Trail runs between Skatås in Göteborg and Lake Kåsjön in the Municipality of Partille.
From Skatås, the Bohusleden Trail runs east through Knipeflågsbergen Nature Reserve, a vast plateau, adjacent to the Lake Delsjö area. The Trail climbs up onto Getryggen, a ridge which provides a fantastic view over Göteborg. There is a shelter here, in a beautiful location, which is suitable both for having a picnic or sleeping over. Further towards Lake Kåsjön the Trail passes the mythical Blacktjärn. By Lake Kåsjön there is a lovely bathing area and during the summer also a kiosk and toilet.
This section is easy to medium difficulty but has some steep parts. If you walk quietly for a while, listen, wait, watch and look, there are good chances of spotting some of the larger woodland animals such as elk and roe deer, but also smaller ones such as hare, fox and badger. The Trail runs parallel with the Vildmarksleden Trail along the whole section.
Surface: The section of the trail is a mix ox dirt roads and forest paths.
Approximate time: It takes approximately 3-4 hours to walk this section of the trail.
Not to be missed: The view from the top of Getryggen. Feeling the sense of peace and quiet along the trail, despite the proximity to Göteborg and the surrounding districts.
How to get there: It is easy to reach both Skatås and Kåsjön by public transportation and or car. Close to Skatås there is a stop for both bus and tram, called Welandersgatan. In Kåsjön there is a but stop called Åstebo.
